Meera completed her Bachelors degree from Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan, U.S., after which she went to New York to work in an advertising firm. She also worked at NDTV for couple of months in New Delhi. Soon, she got an offer to work in South Indian movies. lately she has ventured into fashion business with Chennai International Fashion Week, as one of the partners, and with much success. The versatile actress is also managing her own hotel business in delhi and planning to branch out in entire India.

Nila's first film was Anbe Aaruyire (Ah Ahh) produced and directed by S.J. Suryah , in which he played the lead role. The movie was a smash hit and she got an instant recognition in Tamil cinema. Later, she went on to do some Telugu movies. Her last Telugu movie Vaana , was produced by an ace producer M. S. Raju , where her acting was highly appreciated. Jaganmohini is her recent movie.She has given several hit films.There were some leaked personal pictures of her which is believed to be taken before she entered the film industries.
